NSW public schools are well prepared to support students with disability and additional learning and support needs and staff are ready to answer your questions.
Visit our Inclusive learning support hub for more information on:
We monitor each student's progress and provide additional learning support if this is required.
Our school uses learning programs and specialised staff where needed and we work in partnership with parents and carers to assist students who have special learning needs.
Our school is committed to working with Aboriginal parents and community members in developing personalised plans for our Aboriginal students.
Glebe Public School provides the following learning support programs:
Winanggay – Aboriginal Education Officer
English Another Language / Dialect (EAL/D)
Learning Support Teacher (LST) - literacy, numeracy and gifted and talented.
The school also employs several Student Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) that assist in accomodating your child's needs in the classroom and on the playground. We also develop Personalised Learning Plans for all students in a collaborative process with students, their families, teachers and support staff.
The role of the Learning Support Teacher (LST) is to support students who are experiencing learning difficulties in literacy and numeracy. The LST program caters for students of all ages, from Kindergarten to Year 6.
Students are selected for the program by the Learning Support Team which includes the principal, the school counsellor and classroom teachers. In some cases class programs may only need adjusting to meet a student's needs; at other times it may be necessary to withdraw a student for intensive lessons.

Glebe Public School respectfully acknowledges the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, to whom this land belongs. We pay our respect to the elders of the past and present, for they hold the memories, culture and wisdom for our future. Gadigal Country surrounds us with beautiful coastal sandstone and tranquil water ways, which have provided Aboriginal peoples with nourishing food, shelter, and spiritual connection for thousands of years. We promise to protect the land, plants, and animals that live alongside us as we learn, grow, and play. We will continue to live, learn, and appreciate the natural history of this land and people for generations to come and we give our gratitude for the love and long continuation that Aboriginal peoples have had with this land. We promise to stand united in our commitment that through working in partnership, we will together seek reconciliation, unity, and equity for the aspirations of all Aboriginal peoples.
